Dear Women Over 40:
I see you, but I know it may not feel like the rest of the world actually sees you. I know how it feels to not feel represented in the movies and magazines, and if we do see a woman over 40 in the media it’s to advertise anti-wrinkle cream or hair dye. I for one would LOVE to see more fabulous, vibrant and sexy women over 40 in our media. Representation matters and it makes a difference in how we view ourselves.
As a 47-year-old woman, I know what it feels like to finally come into my own skin and feel my true beauty. It’s an amazing feeling, but then there’s the not-so great feeling of not seeing women like me being portrayed in this positive light in the media. Where are all the fabulous women over 40 that are feeling confident in their own skin and still look damn good?
I know there are women our there who are kicking butt in their careers, raising families, starting businesses and still have many, many years of vibrant youth still in them. I want to capture all that and add to the positive pro-aging movement women are having.

As a women’s empowerment photographer I specialize in bringing out what is beautiful in each women--and I’ve consistently found that older women bring a depth of life experience, wisdom, and even spiritual richness that can make us shine and have others take notice.
I’m here to capture that spark within you. Because yes, it’s there inside you--but you probably haven’t yet gifted yourself the space and opportunity to let that shine.
